Sarasota proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs, sneaking past 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Sailors in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Sarasota got a massive performance out of Gianna Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in March. Sommer Speers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sarasota was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Sarasota's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Lakewood Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Coming up, Sarasota will face off against Palmetto at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will take on Inspiration Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
