Baseball Recap: Paris Takes a Loss

If Paris was riding high fresh off their 12-5 takedown of Bourbon County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Greyhounds fell 7-3 to the Fleming County Panthers on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Cameron Mays was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Paris' loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Fleming County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paris will venture away from home to take on Williamstown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Demons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Greyhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fleming County, they will challenge Lawrence County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
