Basketball Recap: Johnson's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Jenkins came into Friday's game looking for another win against Johnson, but Favion Kirkwood wouldn't allow it. The Johnson Atomsmashers escaped with a win on Friday against the Jenkins Warriors by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53 thanks in part to Kirkwood, who posted 29 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Quentin James, who earned three points along with five assists and five steals. Those five steals gave him a new career-high.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominique Johnson, who had 15 points. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Troy Graham Jr. was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Johnson's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Jenkins, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Johnson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-48 defeat against Calvary Day on the 1st. As for Jenkins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 51-48 loss against Beach on the 1st.
