            After losing to Cardinal Stritch the last time they met, Start decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Spartans put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp  9-2 win on Monday. Considering the Spartans have won three contests by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Bryce Creecy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out 15 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Those  15  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. With that strong performance,  he is now averaging an impressive 1.4  stolen bases per game.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Joe Buck, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.  Daniel Brownfield also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
The  victory made it two in a row for Start and  bumps their season record up to 3-3-1. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3  runs in those games. As for Cardinal Stritch, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the  loss, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Coming up, Start will be playing at home against Lake  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Flyers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7  runs per game  this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cardinal Stritch, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Ottawa Hills  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Green Bears will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
