Softball Recap: Kingsburg Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Kingsburg's offense. They lost 9-0 to the St. Joseph Knights on Monday. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Knights when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kingsburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Averie Croissant, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Kingsburg and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Kingsburg and St. Joseph should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 171st) will meet San Luis Obispo (ranked 613th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph will square off against Righetti at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (50 vs. 159). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.6, the Warriors 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
