Walnut is a perfect 5-0 against Ashland since August of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will challenge the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Walnut ended up a good deal behind Myrtle and lost 35-16.

Meanwhile, Ashland played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by West Tallahatchie 54-14. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-8.

Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Walnut, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Walnut against Ashland in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, as the team secured a 50-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
