Baseball Game Preview: Tampa Prep Terrapins vs. Owensboro Red Devils

Tampa Prep got a great performance from Nick Angelone as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Angelone a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Tampa Prep's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Bailey, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Liam Akins was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Sunday Owensboro sidestepped IMG Academy Royal for a 4-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Red Devils have won by exactly two runs.

Owensboro has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. Tampa Prep's victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
