Football Game Preview: Hooker Bulldogs vs. Fairview Yellowjackets

The Hooker Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Fairview Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Fairview will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Hooker extended their winning streak to three on Friday. Everything went the Bulldogs' way against Cashion as they made off with a 49-28 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Hooker can attribute much of their success to Keilan Robinson, who rushed for 207 yards and six scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and Justin Palacios, who rushed for 259 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Robinson's longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hooker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 505 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Hooker didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of James Curtis and Robinson.

Meanwhile, Fairview was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Crescent 49-22. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Hooker's record is now 5-1. As for Fairview, their record now sits at an identical 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Hooker against Fairview in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 38-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
