Basketball Recap: South Atlanta Takes a Loss

South Atlanta entered their matchup against Columbia on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The South Atlanta Hornets were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Columbia Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-51 back in January.

South Atlanta lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Duor Duor, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Duor has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bol Deng, who posted 14 points.

South Atlanta's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for Columbia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

South Atlanta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-39 victory against Redan on the 1st. As for Columbia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 75-49 win against Drew Charter on the 3rd.
