Softball Game Preview: Waskom Wildcats vs. Overton Mustangs

For the second straight game, Waskom will face off against Overton. Waskom will head out on the road to face off against Overton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Waskom has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight losses, while Overton will come in with eight straight victories.

Waskom fell victim to Overton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-0 to the Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Waskom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Grace Hicks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. That's the most hits Hicks has posted since back in February.

Overton pushed their record up to 11-8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Waskom, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
