Basketball Recap: Erie First Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Erie First Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since February 6, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 84-61 to the Girard Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, Erie First Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Girard is ranked 106th).

Erie First Christian Academy dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Girard, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Erie First Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eisenhower at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Girard, they will take on Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwestern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
