Basketball Game Preview: Wahama White Falcons vs. Ritchie County Rebels

The Wahama White Falcons will challenge the Ritchie County Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Wahama's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Last Tuesday, Wahama humbled Tolsia with an 82-39 victory. The White Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Ritchie County hadn't done well against Ravenswood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Ritchie County strolled past Ravenswood with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Rebels were the better team in the second half.

Wahama better focus on containing Rhett Johnson and Isaac Hodges as the pair were huge in Ritchie County's win. Johnson went 9 of 14 en route to 25 points and three steals, while Hodges dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The game was Hodges' 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Turner Shriver, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Wahama pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Ritchie County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Wahama was able to grind out a solid victory over Ritchie County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 73-62. Does Wahama have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ritchie County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
