Basketball Recap: North Greene Takes a Loss

North Greene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 44-36 to the Southwestern Piasa Birds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 45-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Southwestern had a senior duo take command as Ryan Lowis went 8 for 11 on his way to 23 points and five boards and Ian Brantley dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. Brantley has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times he's played.

North Greene now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Southwestern, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

North Greene didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-17 loss against Routt Catholic on the 31st. As for Southwestern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-41 defeat against Pana on the 31st.
