Volleyball Recap: Winfield Finds Playoff Glory Versus MICDS

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Winfield walked away with it. Everything went their way against the MICDS Rams on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

While Winfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.

MICDS' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kendall Lay, who had 29 assists and 15 digs, and Alayna Wright, who had 18 digs and four assists. Lay is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Winfield's win bumped their record up to 17-10-1. As for MICDS, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-18.

Winfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Helias on the 1st. MICDS does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
