Volleyball Recap: Winfield Wins Going Away Against MICDS

It's playoff time, and Winfield had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the MICDS Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Winfield never let MICDS on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.

Aubree Schott went supernova, getting ten digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Caidyn Pund also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Winfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Despite the defeat, MICDS had strong showings from Kendall Lay, who had 29 assists and 15 digs, and Alayna Wright, who had 18 digs and four assists.

Winfield's win bumped their record up to 17-10-1. As for MICDS, the loss snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 17-18 record.

Winfield has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Helias on the 1st. MICDS does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
