New Covenant entered their tilt with Southampton Academy on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They breezed by the Southampton Academy Raiders to the tune of 84-23. The Gryphons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

New Covenant's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristan Isenhour, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 assists. Isenhour is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Rusty Hooks was another key player, going 8 for 9 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Isenhour wasn't the only one working in the assists department: New Covenant was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Southampton Academy lost, don't look at G Applewhite. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

New Covenant's record now sits at 9-1. As for Southampton Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

New Covenant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-40 victory against Grace Christian School on the 21st. As for Southampton Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 92-75 loss against Mechanicsville on the 21st.
