A well-balanced attack led Danville over Western Boone in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Danville Warriors blew the Western Boone Stars out of the water with a 70-33 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 26 points or more this season.
Danville had a senior duo take command as Addison Davis almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards and Emma Ancelet went 7 for 11 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. What's more, Davis also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Maddy Wethington was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals.
Danville was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Boone only racked up six assists.
Despite the loss, Western Boone had strong showings from Ally Lewis, who posted 18 points, and Olivia Reagan, who earned six points and six boards. Lewis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Amaya Westerfeld also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Danville has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Western Boone, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.
Danville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crawfordsville at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th.
