Softball Recap: Ripon's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Ripon can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They blew past the Randolph Rockets 11-1. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Addisyn Johnson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Bryn Carlson and Bella Klettke did most of the damage at the plate: Carlson went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Klettke went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Klettke has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabi Gaffney, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Ripon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ripon's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Randolph, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Ripon will head out to take on Kettle Moraine Lutheran at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Randolph, they will square off against Pardeeville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.9 runs per game on average), something the Rockets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
