Football Recap: Big Bear's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

If Big Bear was feeling good fresh off their 43-0 takedown of Cabrillo last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles on Friday. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Although Big Bear took the loss, they still got scores from Wade Addington and Savion Sorapuru.

Big Bear's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Rigo Guadarrama and Gunnar Gherke, who each picked up one interception apiece.

Desert Hot Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Turner led the charge by throwing for 182 yards and three TDs. Those 182 passing yards gave Turner a new career-high.

Big Bear's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. As for Desert Hot Springs, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Big Bear will face off against Whittier Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Desert Hot Springs, they will take on Yucca Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
