Volleyball Recap: Roosevelt Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Roosevelt waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Elsinore Tigers as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Roosevelt didn't let Elsinore take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 25-23.

Austin Williams paced Roosevelt's offense, picking up 13 kills. Williams got some help from Alex Chang and his 35 assists. Finally, Williams was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Despite the loss, Elsinore had strong showings from Andrew Bermudez, who had 16 digs and one assist, and Isaiah Word, who had eight assists and four digs. That's the most digs Bermudez has posted over his last 11 games.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Elsinore, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-4 record.

Coming up, Roosevelt will square off against Los Osos at 4:45 p.m. on the 7th. As for Elsinore, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Norco at 5:30 p.m. on the 7th.
