Baseball Preview: Rocklin Thunder vs. Granite Bay Grizzlies

Rocklin is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Granite Bay took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rocklin, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Rocklin beat Foothill 7-2.

Daniel Panteloglow looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Rocklin let Colby Pudge and Dylan Nusz run wild. Pudge scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Nusz scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Nusz posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Ethan Brown also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Rocklin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Granite Bay struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
