Baseball Recap: Fayette County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Curry

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fayette County). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Curry Yellowjackets a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024.

Not much got past Lukas Driver, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Curry off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jake Rickman, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Kason Rushing, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Fayette County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Curry only posted a batting average of .053.

The win made it two in a row for Fayette County and bumps their season record up to 5-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Curry, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
