Softball Recap: Mondovi Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mondovi, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Glenwood City Hilltoppers on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Buffaloes: when they faced off against the Hilltoppers last Monday, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Mondovi pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Glenwood City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mondovi will face off against rival Boyceville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Buffaloes 3.8, the Bulldogs 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Glenwood City is set to take on their familiar foe Elk Mound at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
