The Mercy Tigers will head out to square off against the West Haven Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Mercy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Montville just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 25-17 in the first set.
Mercy actually scored more points across those five sets (106-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 15-13.

Kacy Dickson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 14 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, West Haven entered their matchup against Sacred Heart Academy on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Blue Devils fell 3-1 to the Sharks.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-10, 25-9.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Mercy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Mercy might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from West Haven when the teams last played back in September. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
