Flowing Wells is 8-2 against Desert View since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Flowing Wells got a massive performance out of Oscar Murillo, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The Caballeros are 2-0-1 when Murillo posts two or more runs, but 4-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Josiah Kehoe, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Flowing Wells was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.
Meanwhile, Desert View came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Ravens. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Orlando Pinedo, who fired off three home runs, 11 RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Oscar Quijada was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Desert View's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Flowing Wells, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11-1.
