Volleyball Recap: Winneconne Wolves vs. Freedom Irish
Winneconne was the 2-1 winner over Freedom when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell just short of the Irish by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Irish 25-19 in the first set.
While Winneconne ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least nine points in every set they played. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 25-18, 18-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Winneconne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hallah Josephson had 26 digs and four assists. Those 26 digs set a new season-high mark for Josephson. Laney Immel also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for Winneconne and nudges their season record down to 9-3. As for Freedom, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Winneconne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Markesan on the 20th. As for Freedom, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Little Chute on the 18th.
