Volleyball Recap: Desert Heights Prep Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Valley Lutheran on Thursday, Desert Heights Prep came back down to earth. The Yote lost 3-0 to the North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Yote in their meetings with the Gladiators: they've now lost nine in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, 25-11.

Desert Heights Prep's offense was headlined by Angelina Ferguson and Fallyn French, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Libby Saunders and her five assists. Finally, Ana Estrella kept Desert Heights Prep's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

North Phoenix Preparatory Academy can attribute much of their success to Maddy Nicholson, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs Nicholson has posted since back in September.

Desert Heights Prep now has a losing record of 9-10. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-4.

Desert Heights Prep has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against St. David on the 4th. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Anthem Prep on the 31st.
