Baseball Recap: Cedar Cliff Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Cedar Cliff lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Altoona, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Colts blew past the Mountain Lions 13-3 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Colts sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jaden Miller got the start for Cedar Cliff and what a start it was: he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Cedar Cliff got a massive performance out of Michael Boblick, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Boblick a new career-high. Blake Secrest was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Cedar Cliff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Cedar Cliff's record now sits at 12-8. As for Altoona, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Cedar Cliff will take on South Western at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Altoona, they have already played their next game, a 1-0 win against State College on the 14th.
