Severn School came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Archbishop Curley Friars with a 55-49 win. Given the Admirals' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Friars are ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Severn School's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for Archbishop Curley, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
