Preview: Warren County Screaming Devils vs. Lincoln County Red Devils
Warren County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Lincoln County Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Warren County, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Warren County never let their opponents score. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Towns County 44-0 at home. The win was just what Warren County needed coming off of a 34-6 defeat in their prior contest.
Warren County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tra'Shad Mathis led the charge by rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Mathis was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Jamarion Darden was in the mix too, providing Warren County with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County scored first but ultimately less than Greene County in their match on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 28-3 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Lincoln County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Greene County is ranked 101st).
Warren County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Lincoln County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Warren County was dealt a bruising 34-0 loss at the hands of Lincoln County when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Warren County, Trey Huff (who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
