High school basketball: Four-star Maryland signee Jahnathan Lamothe explodes for 57 points, hits 16 3-pointers in 120-77 win

St. Frances Academy finishes the regular season 11-3 in Baltimore Catholic League play and 25-10 overall.

Four-star Maryland signee Janathan Lamothe set a new St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) program record with 57 points and 16 made 3-pointers in a 120-77 victory over John Carroll (Bel Air, Md.) in their final game of Baltimore Catholic League play Friday night.

The Panthers finish the regular season with a record of 11-3 in BCL play and 25-10 record overall. They had previously scored 100 points just once this season in a 104-68 victory over Pallotti (Laurel, Md.) back on Jan. 27.

The 6-foot-4 guard has put together multiple impressive performances this season, including recording 25 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in an 97-84 victory over Glenelg Country (Elliot City, Md.) on Jan. 9, tallying 24 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds in a 75-65 win versus Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Baltimore) on Jan. 30 and finishing with 23 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in a 93-64 triumph against Calvert Hall (Baltimore) on Feb. 8.

Lamothe is regarded as the No. 125 prospect in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports. He picked the Terrapins over 20 additional offers including Creighton, Illinois, LSU, Marquette, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and TCU.



The Maryland signee surpassed 1,000 points in his high school career earlier this season.
