Basketball Recap: Bob Jones Skates Past Mae Jemison with Ease

Bob Jones won the last time they faced Mae Jemison and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots blew past the Jaguars 71-41. The Patriots pushed the score to 63-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Bob Jones to victory were Ella Watts and Ja'Kyah Smith. Watts shot 47% from the field on her way to 20 points, while Smith went 7-for-11 en route to 14 points. Watts' big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Asia Robinson, who posted six points.

DAKOTA JONES and MEKELLE JONES-ODEH certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. JONES scored eight points and five rebounds, while JONES-ODEH earned ten points.

The victory (which was Bob Jones' third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 65.3 points this season. As for Mae Jemison, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Bob Jones didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-50 loss against Hoover on the 15th. As for Mae Jemison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 45-40 defeat against Austin on the 21st.
