The Bermudian Springs Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Fairfield Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Bermudian Springs put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against York County Tech as they made off with a 23-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bermudian Springs got a massive performance out of Makayla Reese, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Reese a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Willow, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Reese wasn't the only one making solid contact: Bermudian Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fairfield entered their tilt with York County Tech on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-5.
Maddy Payne made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Addison Welch was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sydney Kreitz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Bermudian Springs pushed their record up to 5-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, their record now sits at 4-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bermudian Springs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Fairfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bermudian Springs' way against Fairfield when the teams last played back in March, as Bermudian Springs made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
