             The Murrah Mustangs are taking a road trip to  take on the Callaway Chargers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  both  posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
 While Mustangs fans will have to keep waiting for their  squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's  season opener. They took their  contest on the road  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  35-6 victory over Port Gibson.
 Murrah's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB  four times. The heavy lifting was done by  Landon Hurt and  Floyd Harris who racked up all four sacks between them. Harris also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up  two  sacks and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
 Meanwhile, Callaway gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Friday. They never let Provine onto the board and left with  a   39-0  win. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Duran McClendon had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.  Marvin Moore was another key rusher, rushing for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
 Murrah didn't have too much breathing room in their  game against Callaway  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, but they still walked away with  a  22-16 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was   Moore, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
