Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Farmington

Pleasant Grove faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings fell just short of the Phoenix by a score of 3-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Pleasant Grove lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-28, 26-28, 27-25, 15-13.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Farmington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Pleasant Grove will head out to take on Skyridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farmington, they will host Davis at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Phoenix have won five straight at home, while the Darts won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
