Volleyball Game Preview: Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes vs. Monmouth United Red Storm + How To Watch

Abingdon/Avon is 0-10 against Monmouth United since October of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Tornadoes will venture away from home to square off against the Red Storm at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Abingdon/Avon's tournament run continued when they took on Wethersfield on Saturday. The Tornadoes took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flying Geese.

Meanwhile, Monmouth United didn't have quite enough to beat Princeville on Wednesday and fell 2-1. While the Red Storm didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Princes 25-21 in the first set.

Monmouth United started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Monmouth United's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Abingdon/Avon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Abingdon/Avon came up short against Monmouth United in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Tornadoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
