Softball Preview: Grangeville Bulldogs vs. Genesee Bulldogs

Grangeville is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Genesee is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Grangeville Bulldogs will take on the Genesee Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thacker was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Madalyn Green was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Vanderwall, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Genesee gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Kendrick 11-9.

Like Grangeville, Genesee also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendra Meyer. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. Meyer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mia Scharnhorst was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI. Sydney Banks was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Grangeville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Genesee, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Grangeville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .536. However, it's not like Genesee struggles in that department as they've averaged .565. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
