Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hayden Holdren and Jase Coke Lead Standing Bear to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Skutt Catholic, Standing Bear was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They secured a 21-16 W over the York Dukes. For the Grizzlies, this counts as revenge for the 36-0 win the Dukes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

A big part of Standing Bear's victory came down to the chemistry between Hayden Holdren and his top target Jase Coke. Holdren threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns while Coke picked up 108 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Coke got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 62 yards.

Standing Bear didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited York to a completion percentage of just 47.6%. The team can thank Coke for the heroic effort on defense: he. Standing Bear wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.9%.

Despite the loss, York still got an impressive performance from Emmitt Dirks, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also threw for 131 yards and one touchdown.
