Tuslaw never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Beachwood Bison with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tuslaw got a great performance from Gabby McGowen as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. McGowen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hadley Porter and Kaydence Chapman did most of the damage at the plate: Porter went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Chapman went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Chapman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylyn Fox, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Tuslaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in 12 consecutive matches.
Tuslaw's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Beachwood, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.
Coming up, Tuslaw will take on Columbiana in a tournament on Tuesday. Beachwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
