Recap: Halls Red Devils vs. Howard Wildcats
The Halls Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell to Howard 51-47. While losing is never fun, Halls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 189th in Tennessee, while Howard is ranked fifth in Delaware).
When it comes to explaining why Halls lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chandler Gamble. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Gamble scored a full 38.3% of Halls' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jake Lane was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Halls has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Howard, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Carter at 7:15 p.m. on January 5th. As for Howard, they will face off against Glasgow at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glasgow will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
