Basketball Recap: Lakeshore vs. Sumner Cowboys
Lakeshore can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Sumner, posting a 58-26 victory on the road. Given Lakeshore's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Cowboys are ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Caiden Bickham, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 14 games he's played. Owen Guth was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Lakeshore is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Sumner, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-21.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeshore will take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sumner, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
