The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. Mary's-Colgan, who took down 111th ranked Galena, 21-0.

Girard extended the longest winning streak in Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee this week by beating Independence, 53-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Trojans.

Southeast's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Thompson threw for 87 and three touchdowns and Ryan Rakestraw had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Thompson chipped in 142 yards. Daniel Peak helped Southeast's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.

JC Pugsley made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs lost to the Panthers. The 6-foot-3 sophomore recorded one fumble.

The Lancers' Thompson and Peak have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Thompson has thrown for 1289 yards this season, while Peak, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 37 catches for 749 yards. Girard's Anthony Scholes leads the league in rushing yards with 719.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Galena takes on Southeast. As it stands, Beau Sarwinski's team is in fifth, while Clint Rider's team is in first.

There should be lots of points scored when the Bulldogs and the Lancers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Galena comes in having scored 224 this season, while Southeast has scored 253. The Bulldogs scored 0 points last week as they fell to St. Mary's-Colgan.

Chuck Smith's team moved up to 111 from 150 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Galena 21-0.
