Basketball Game Preview: King's Academy Lions vs. Santaluces Chiefs

Having just played yesterday, the King's Academy Lions will jump right back in to play the Santaluces Chiefs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. King's Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Santaluces will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when King's Academy faced off against Heritage on Friday. King's Academy put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 72-47 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Santaluces was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They were dealt a 51-23 defeat at the hands of Park Vista. The Chiefs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-4.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Santaluces, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Everything came up roses for King's Academy against Santaluces in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 55-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for King's Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
