Soccer Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Franklin County and Monroe Area, and Monroe Area kept the tradition alive. The Lions came up short against the Purple Hurricanes on Friday, falling 4-1. Franklin County were not able to make up for their defeat to Monroe Area from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Franklin County's goal came courtesy of Miguel Martinez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Monroe Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1.

Franklin County didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Rabun County on the 24th. As for Monroe Area, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Oglethorpe County on the 24th.
