Recap: Manchester Township Hawks vs. Brick Township Green Dragons
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Manchester Township Hawks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They snuck past Brick Township with a 56-52 win. Given Manchester Township's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Brick Township is ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Devyn Quigley, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Manchester Township's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Andrews, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Manchester Township is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Brick Township, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Manchester Township will head out on the road to challenge Trinity Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brick Township, they will be playing at home against Barnegat at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
