Basketball Recap: Burbank Falls Despite Big Games from Julian James-Jardines and Michael Butcher

After flying high against Ceres on Wednesday, Burbank came back down to earth. The Burbank Titans fell 57-48 to the Atwater Falcons on Thursday. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Michael Butcher and Julian James-Jardines certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Butcher went 8 of 18 on his way to 18 points and eight steals, while James-Jardines posted 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Butcher a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnnie Williams, who had six points.

Burbank's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Atwater, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Burbank will be taking part in a tournament against Bear Creek at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Burbank is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. As for Atwater, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Escalon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
