Basketball Game Preview: Erwin Warriors vs. A.C. Reynolds Rockets

Erwin is 0-10 against A.C. Reynolds since December of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Erwin Warriors will look to defend their home court against the A.C. Reynolds Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Erwin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Asheville 84-53. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors who have now won three matches in a row.

Carson Wallace continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. He has become a key player for Erwin: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Michael Petty, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Erwin was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Asheville only racked up four assists.

Meanwhile, A.C. Reynolds entered their tilt with West Henderson on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed by the Falcons to the tune of 62-35. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-13.

Erwin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for A.C. Reynolds, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Things could have been worse for Erwin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 81-63 loss to A.C. Reynolds when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Erwin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
