Softball Game Preview: Eldorado Eagles vs. Edwards County Lions

For the second straight game, Eldorado will face off against Edwards County. The Eagles will host the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eldorado's hitters haven't had much luck over their past eight matchups, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Eldorado's offense. They came up short against Edwards County on Tuesday, falling 25-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Lions since May 2, 2023.

For Edwards County's part, Grace Bishop was incredible, firing off three home runs, ten RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those ten RBI gave Bishop a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenley West, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Edwards County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
