Midland waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Wylie. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Midland has posted against Wylie since September 1, 2017.

Midland not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Wylie between 15 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-17.

Midland's win bumped their record up to 23-7. As for Wylie, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-7.

Midland and Wylie should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 103rd) will meet Monahans (ranked 384th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wylie will take on San Angelo Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (57 vs. 261).
