Softball Recap: Robert C. Byrd Eagles vs. Buckhannon-Upshur Bucaneers
Robert C. Byrd extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 12-16. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buckhannon-Upshur Bucaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in March.
Robert C. Byrd saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayce Defazio, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
On Buckhannon-Upshur's side, Kynnedy Marple made a splash while hitting and pitching.
